Ahhh… I am back from Rejuvenation Day Spa, where I somehow forgot I had scheduled a 90-minute massage – did I mention the extravagance? – and where I spent the entire blissful lavender-orange-tarragon scented time thinking about my blog. Wacky, I know. But I have not been able to get the “word thing” off my mind.
Lightness. What does that mean to me? What do I want, in positively-stated terms? I already decided on some categories, and sort of correlated them with my old “Release” categories:
- Lighten My Heart – Health Worries and Stress Released
- Lighten My Life – Perfectionism and Procrastination Released
- Lighten The Load – Clutter Released
- Lighten Myself – Excess Body Fat Released
- Lighten Up! – Blog-related content
So, if these categories are what I want, what are the positive ways to think of each one? Or, to put it another way, what do I want?
I want to use my time well. I want to live in a beautiful, orderly home. I want to take good care of myself. I want to fill my mind with positive thoughts. I want to live a life that is joyful and relaxing and filled with laughter and good times with people I love.
So, let’s look at those categories again:
- Lighten My Heart –
Health Worries and Stress ReleasedTo live a life that is joyful and relaxing, and to fill my mind with positive thoughts. - Lighten My Life –
Perfectionism and Procrastination ReleasedTo use my time well and make healthy, realistic choices. - Lighten The Load –
Clutter ReleasedTo live in a beautiful, orderly, clutter-free home. - Lighten Myself –
Excess Body Fat ReleasedTo take good care of myself (Good sleep, good food, good exercise, lots of water). - Lighten Up! –
Blog-related contentTo live a life that is filled with laughter and quality time with people I love.
I think I am going to try these for a while and see if it makes a difference in how I feel about each category. I think it will.
Five things I am grateful for today:
- My lovely Q making the trek to Baristador’s to get us bagel sandwiches. (She ate the bagel and sausage, I ate the bacon and egg.)
- A nice note from a client whom I had called to give an apology.
- A lovely dinner cooked by my boy, all ready when I got home late.
- Great cancer test results for my mother-in-law!
- A main floor that is pretty tidy.
- {Live in a beautiful, orderly, clutter-free home}: Filed some papers that had been sitting on the office floor, and filed away all the tax papers.
- {Take good care of myself}: A wonderful massage, and another no flour, no sugar day. I am also going to go to sleep at 10:30 (in other words, right now!)
- {Spend quality time with people I love}: Spoke to David’s mom tonight, and her PET scan showed her cancer is gone!
Hallelujah on the PET scan results! I’m so glad to read this and know Grammaly-Groo is cancer free. Good news for all of you!

Isn’t it exciting? She was so thrilled to see the PET scan from May side-by-side with yesterday’s scan and see that the radition and chemo had gotten everything. They’ll check again in January, but they feel pretty confident. Praise the Lord!
