Over the years, I have acquired a few angels, and they seem to have become a staple of my Christmas decorations. In a quick glance over the ornaments my tree, in fact, I think I may have an equal number of angels and Santas, with everything else running a distant third.
I’ve put a few of my bigger angels on top of a bookcase in the living room with a string of white lights. It looks cool in the dark. I tried to take a picture with only the string of lights on, but the light was just too low for my little point-and-shoot.
*sigh* My vision of what my photos should look like and what they do look like do not compare. It is becoming increasingly clear that I need to get a proper DSLR camera and some proper skills. I have been debating getting one before the trip to Europe in March. It would be perfect to practice while I have time to do so and incredible settings to shoot in, but putting out that kind of money while we are trying to save for the trip is pretty daunting.
Do you have a point-and-shoot camera or an SLR, digital or otherwise? Any suggestions for me?
- I’m grateful! for all the progress we made on preparing for Christmas today, and to the lovely Miss Quinland for wrapping every present that was piled in front of her.
- I’m lighter! I used my time very well today. I made a list, checked it twice, remembered to bring it with me, and did some shopping! David came, too, and he even brought some school work along in case he burned out on shopping before I did. (“In case” – ha ha! He hates shopping under any conditions, while I would shop for a living if I could. I go into stores and lose hours in the blink of an eye.)
