The Christmas Countdown kind of fizzled out, I know. If it had been a true countdown, we’d have had to abort the mission! In fact, I was just hurtling so hard and fast toward Christmas Eve that I never got a chance to finish any of the other posts. Stay tuned for some make-up Countdown posts in the next few days.
In the meantime, we are winding down here after a wonderful Christmas Day.
I got off to a shaky start by staying up until almost 4 am wrapping presents after Mass (and after neglecting to take an important medication)… so after stockings and presents this morning I proceeded to get weepy and basically have a meltdown. David tucked me in (for a long winter’s nap) and I managed to wake up more cheerful and vastly more pleasant for the arrival of all the family for Christmas dinner.
We had good food, great company, a hilarious gift exchange, a lovely concert from my niece, still more food, and now – very, very soon – more sleep!
Blessings to you and yours,
Lori
Daily Check-In:
- I’m grateful! for the first Christmas and the birth of Christ – I never forget why we celebrate this day.
- I’m lighter! It is so good to spend Christmas with family, laughing and talking and laughing some more.
