Sally: You can’t take it back.
Harry: Why not?
Sally: Because it’s already out there.
Harry: Oh, jeez. What are we supposed to do? Call the cops? “It’s already out there!”
Fellow bloggers, what do you do when you write a post that just doesn’t hit the mark?
I’m asking because I am going to go back to yesterday’s post and rewrite it. (I know what I was trying to say; I just don’t think I actually said it.) But rewriting a post feels like “cheating” somehow. I don’t know why; it’s not like there is a Blog Authority that monitors whether every post is exactly identical to the way it was when you first hit “Publish.” But I feel like Sally in When Harry Met Sally. I can’t take it back; it’s already out there.
Sigh. I am going to rewrite it; I just know I am. I’d still like your opinion, though, for future reference. Thank you!
Daily Check-In:
I’m grateful! that Liz encouraged me to go to Bikram Yoga today. I was proud when she told me I had determination. I felt like Monica on Friends: “I am scrappy!”
Absolutely I have deleted whole posts, rewritten posts, etc. For the 3 readers I have there are pretty good odds that they didn’t read the first version yet anyway. Ultimately it’s a personal journey and that is the beauty of blogging – revision is possible! Hugs from afar, dl ❤

That made me smile – I often feel like I have only three readers, but I know you have more!
I appreciate your insight, because you have been doing this much longer than I have. I like the idea that the journey is mine, so the decision is mine as well.

My opinion? Your goal is to lighten up. Let sleeping blogs lie.

Too funny! That’s the very next bit of conversation in the film.
Sally: Just let it lie, ok?
Harry: Great! Let it lie. That’s my policy. That’s what I always say, let it lie. … See what I did? I didn’t let it lie.

I love reading *all* you write–even if you see the need to revise it! Did you go to Bikram? It’s amazing!
