la indecisión me molesta…

In the words of The Clash, this indecision’s bugging me. I have been messing around with the blog as I am wont to do, and things are coming to a head. Decisions must be made. Name, design, theme – everything is up for grabs.

Frankly, I have been struggling with the whole “Lighten Up!” concept for a long time.  When I chose that as the name of the blog, I was thinking of it in the sense of being lighthearted… but no matter how I try to spin it, the phrase has a harshness to it that I can’t get past. “Lighten up!” sounds like something you’d say to someone who was offended or who doesn’t have a sense of humor. I think I need to let it go and start anew.

Of course, this one decision sets off a chain reaction. What am I going to call the blog? You’d laugh if you knew how many iterations it has gone through in the past week. One favorite name made the cut until I found a similar name on a blog of scantily-dressed teens. Another favorite just didn’t roll off the tongue, and a third had too many possibilities for misspellings.

Honestly, it felt like all the good names were taken. I wanted something memorable; something snappy. But I also wanted something that resonated with me personally but wouldn’t lock me in to a particular goal (as I felt “Lighten Up!” did).

I’ve got one, I think. Stay tuned in the next couple of days for the change. Most importantly, pleasepleaseplease keep reading. I love being part of this community of people from all over the world, and I appreciate every single one of you, every time you pop in here.
