NaBloPoMo Day 12:
Name five things inside your refrigerator right now and how you feel about them.
1. Crazy super-protein milk. Feeling: intrigued.
Apparently, it is dehydrated milk mixed with regular milk, but – at least with cereal – it seems to taste the same.
2. Lemon curd. Feeling: wistful.
London may have been my favorite of all the places we lived in Europe last year, and certain foods make me wish I were there again: Good fish and chips, for one… and lemon curd for another.
3. Spinach. Feeling: bored.
We eat a lot of spinach. It makes a more healthy salad than plain old lettuce, and as long as you dress it up with lots of interesting veggies, it is far more tasty. Unfortunately, it is our fall-back vegetable, so we have it a couple of times a week. I need to start roasting some fall veggies.
4. Mango salsa. Feeling: grateful.
Seriously, where was mango salsa for the first 40 years of my life? I am a serious chips-and-salsa girl, and dang, mango salsa is amazing. Add some refried beans, and I’m in heaven.
5. Salted caramel corn frozen yogurt. Feeling: hungry.
Is it cheating to name something in the freezer? Because of all the food in our house right now, that’s the one thing that is calling my name. It is the food of the dairy gods. Sunny’s Legendary Frozen Yogurt near Gabriel Park here in Portland lets you buy it by the individual serving or by the quart. Yum, yum, a thousand times yum!
“Yum, yum! A thousand times yum!” Really? You went there? Well as long as you went there: I hear you saying this in a British accent, and perhaps shedding a tear or two, all whilst the fro-yo kneels at your feet, begging you to forgive it and to eat it.

Oh, yeah. I went there. I was completely and unmitigatedly hungry.

It’s fine, really. I forgive you. Fro-yo forgives you.
Almond Roca, however, does not – its deliciousness, once consumed is consumed forever.
