Plan #10 – Share the love: Whitney & Tim

Edited to add: Since I wrote this post almost two years ago, my friends have been blessed by growing their family through adoption – twice! Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers and good wishes for them!  – Lori

My friend Whitney and her husband Tim are hoping to adopt a baby soon, and – knowing what awesome parents they would be – I am honored to have a chance to share their introductory letter with you. I’ve known Whitney since she was younger than Quinland, and have gotten to know and love her dearly over the years. I have seen Whitney and Tim’s relationship through the dating years, to their wedding, and now as a wonderful couple ready to start a family.

If you know of anyone seeking an adoptive family, I couldn’t recommend Whitney and Tim more highly. Click on the link below to go to their website and see more photos and read more about them. (It’s very cool.) Now, I’ll let them speak for themselves:

Whitney Tim Star

Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to introduce ourselves and tell you more about our family. We’re Whitney and Tim, a loving and supportive couple that has been together for over 10 years. The thought of becoming parents has us thrilled and we are grateful that you love your unborn child so much that you are willing to consider an adoption plan for him or her. Although we have never met, we already admire you for having the courage and strength to choose adoption for your child.

Our Lives Together:

Together we feel like we are in a perfect place in life to welcome a child. We have an extended family that is very supportive and looking forward to a new baby! In fact, Tim’s dad was adopted, making adoption a familiar situation. Both of us grew up in Oregon and have now landed in Washington, less than an hour from Seattle. Our home is located in a great neighborhood near a large park with a lake. We own a house with plenty of space and a large fenced yard that is perfect for a child. Traveling is something we love and most recently we went to the Caribbean, where we swam with stingrays and went cave tubing. We have also traveled through Europe exploring ancient castles, palaces and other exciting places. We can’t wait to share new travel adventures with your child.

About Whitney:

I played water polo in high school, and also swam on the swim team and swim club. Education is extremely important to me. I earned a bachelor’s degree from Portland State. I love walking our dog, Star, a rat terrier, nearly every day at the park near our house with a group of friends. Other hobbies I enjoy are sewing projects for family and friends, and also scrapbooking memorable moments in life. My favorite place to visit is the Pacific Coast, where our dog loves to play in the sand. Reading is another passion I have, along with going to the movies and watching my favorite TV shows, Game of Thrones, Grey’s Anatomy and The Big Bang Theory.

About Tim:

I like to stay active whether it’s skiing and snowboarding in the winter or trying something new during the summer. Growing up, I played a variety of sports including football, basketball, and baseball. I’m always up for a new adventure, but also enjoy relaxing by watching movies, reading books, or simply being with family and friends. I work as an engineer and have earned two master’s degrees with honors. Luckily, my career provides a lot of flexibility, so I’ll always be actively involved in the upbringing of your child.

Thank you for letting us introduce ourselves. Should you choose us, your child will be cherished and loved unconditionally with every opportunity to live a happy, eventful and fulfilling life from two devoted parents. If you would like to get to know us better we will gladly send you a picture book. Please also visit our website for more information. Please feel free to email us at or call (888) 695-4708 or text at (971) 236-7801. Please contact our attorney at (206) 728-5858. Ask for Joan. Reference file # 1077

  1. It is such a hard thing, to have to wait for a child. Especially when you know that you could offer a stable home with two loving parents, something that so many little ones have to do without. I’m praying for them as well!!
