Love the ones you’re with

I’m feeling so thankful for family today. For all the love, support, prayers, affection, pep talks, advice — even all the game-playing — I feel incredibly blessed to share my life with these awesome people.

Take time today to think about your family, those people who — through birth or through love — share your life.  Let them know you love them. Cherish the time you get to spend with them. Don’t ever take them for granted.

I am surrounded by wonderful people

It’s been a hectic week, and I’m truly sick and tired. (I went to bed at 7:30!) Before I fall back to sleep, I thought I’d share some of the things I’m feeling grateful for today.

  • For all of David’s extra niceness when I came back from California. (He missed me horribly.)
  • For phone calls and texts and all the love from Q. (I love that kid.)
  • For such a good visit with all my family in California. (I loved the high movie-to-game ratio of this trip.)
  • For having the enviable situation of working with close friends of almost thirty years. (I imported them myself. I highly recommend it.)
  • For Harry and Alfie coming to Portland at last. (It was well worth skipping a day of blogging!)
  • For Nicole, who brought me dinner tonight. (That girl made me laugh so hard I almost choked.)
  • For all of you who read this blog. (I owe you a nice, long post about the Hudson Taylor gig.)
  • For my lovable, cuddly dog. (He’s not a person, but he’s an excellent companion. May he someday be fully housebroken!)

Plan #22 – Give all the thanks!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, everyone!

I’m so, so thankful for so many blessings:

❤️ For David and Quinland and the joy they bring me every single day.

😘 For my entire wonderful family! I’m especially lucky that I’ve still got all my parents. I know so many people who have lost theirs, so I never take this for granted, and I am thankful for every moment I get to spend with them.

😎 For incredible friends: those who are as close as family, those whom I’d like to know better, and those who only know me “virtually.”

🏡 For a roof over our heads (and the ability to repair that roof if we need to).

🍗 For such an abundance of food that I have to worry about my weight.

🏃 For the fact that my health has stayed so good for so long. I definitely have better days and not-so-good ones, but every day that I am walking around is a gift.

📑 For steady employment in a job that gives me the time I need to rest so that I can stay this healthy! The difference between my quality of life now and two years ago is drastic.

👍 For all the people who work all the jobs that make all the good things in my life possible.

And, of course, I am thankful for the God who gives us all of this! May we always show our gratitude by being good stewards of what we’ve been given and by making choices in our lives based on love for others. May that love drive out the fear in our world!

💝 Oh, yeah – I can’t forget how thankful I am for this guy, who loves me unconditionally, constantly wants me in his presence, and always wants to cuddle:

🐾 Happy Thanksgiving, Bonesy! See you on the track bright and early for the Turkey Trot!
